The Urban Development Institute (UDI) strongly supports the removal of the Georgia and
Dunsmuir viaducts. Replacing the viaducts has minimal impacts and a number of benefits
for the community and Vancouver as a whole.
UDI has long been a strong proponent of the efficient and productive use of land as a way
to ensure and advance our quality of life. The removal of the viaducts will free up land for
new public parks, recreational opportunities, and improved access to the waterfront.
Further, it will allow for increased housing and job space near the downtown core. It will
