Vancouver, BC – The Urban Development Institute (UDI) Board and Executive is pleased to announce the appointment of Anne McMullin as its new President and CEO, effective July 2012.
UDI Chair, Mr. Brian McCauley said, “After a lengthy nation-wide search, the UDI Board of Directors are pleased to welcome a new leader to guide the development industry association forward. Ms. McMullin brings a wealth of experience to UDI having previously held several senior executive positions with the North Vancouver Chamber of Commerce, Port Metro Vancouver, and the BC Salmon Farmers Association. Anne’s many strengths include public communications and government relations.”
Ms. McMullin will succeed Maureen Enser upon her retirement. Ms. Enser has been Executive Director of UDI since 1983 and in that time has transformed the organization from a small one-person office into a polished and professional organization with branches across British Columbia.
Ms. Enser said, “Anne is an experienced and qualified executive. I am pleased to leave the Institute in capable hands after having had the exceptional experience of working with the leaders of British Columbia’s development industry to shape BC’s urban landscape.”
“The UDI is a highly effective and respected organization,” said Ms. McMullin. “I am excited to be part of one of BC’s most important, dynamic and successful industries. I look forward to working closely with the Institute’s stakeholders and delivering effective and positive change for the community.”
The Urban Development Institute is the premier industry body representing over 600 of British Columbia’s leading residential, commercial, industrial and institutional developers. The urban development industry in BC generates $30 billion worth of economic activity and over 250,000 jobs for the Province each year.
